WorkplaceFirst Aid – Intermediate Level (16h) – CSA Z1210-17 Compliant
Upon successful completion of this 16-hour IN-PERSON intermediate-level first aid training, the candidate will receive a valid certification that meets the requirements of 'Intermediate First Aid Training' as defined in the CSA Z1210-17 standard.

Washington sets no fixed first-aider ratio, but under WAC 296-800-150 employers must ensure first-aid trained personnel are available to provide quick and effective first aid, a rule that references the federal standard 29 CFR 1910.151(b).
Under WAC 110-300-0106 and 110-300-0230, administered by the DCYF, all providers counted in staff-to-child ratio must hold current adult and pediatric first aid and CPR certification, with at least one per group also holding infant CPR where applicable.
Under RCW 4.24.300, anyone who without compensation renders emergency care at the scene of an emergency is not liable for civil damages except for gross negligence or willful or wanton misconduct, and RCW 70.54.310 extends immunity to Good Samaritan AED use.
Registered and licensed practical nurses renew through the Washington State Board of Nursing under a continuing-competency standard of 8 hours of continuing nursing education per year (including 2 hours of health equity) plus 96 practice hours, and the Board's guidance explicitly lists CPR, ACLS and PALS as acceptable activities.
In Washington's assisted living facilities, nursing homes and home-care services, candidates must complete a CPR course before applying for Nursing Assistant-Certified (NAC) certification, overseen by the Washington State Board of Nursing.
Under the Minimum Licensing Requirements (WAC chapters 110-147 and 110-148) administered by DCYF, every caregiver over 18 must complete department-approved first-aid and age-appropriate CPR training meeting nationally recognized standards, plus bloodborne-pathogen training, to be licensed.
Online CPR and first aid training is recognized in Washington with no ban on online training for workplace first-aiders; online theory is accepted and a hands-on skills component is recommended for CPR.
